St. Patrick's Day |
In my family, St. Patrick's Day is HUGE! My father is named Patrick, as is his namesake, my younger brother Patrick. My sister Brady was born on, you guessed it...St. Patrick's Day! And to make it all even more perfect, (on March 17) Brady gave birth to her first son...yes, on her birthday! His name? You guessed it! Patrick!!! The latest addition to our family, Patrick III recently arrived on the scene, named after his daddy and grandpa. Every year our family looks forward to celebrating Irish style! We are happy to share the following resources and invite your contributions via email to Lisa@catholicmom.com.

Irish Scones
A Visit from the Leprechaun As long as there are Irishmen to believe in the "Wee Folk," there will be Leprechauns to conjure up fun. Here is one story of Leprechaun shenanigans from Colleen Carmona's Café Traditions. Every Saint Patrick's Day our house welcomes the arrival of the little green leprechaun. On the eve of March 16th, my husband and I go around the house tipping chairs over and throwing pillows on the ground. We tear up small pieces of green construction paper and we make a trail through the house to follow the messes. Then we add a touch of green food coloring dye to each of the toilets (which is a hit with the kids). Our last touch is the special treat they receive from the little green guy. Andes candies are left for each of the girls with a little note wishing them a Happy Saint Patrick's Day!! Café Traditions serves up inspiration for people to create traditions in their life. Visitors can browse through hundreds of traditions in several categories: holidays, birthdays, friends, family and more or submit a cherished tradition of their own. Visit CafeTraditons.com
