Dine Without Whine
is the perfect tool to help your family enjoy stress free and nutritious
family dinners.
This Week's Recipes:
Main Dish Recipe
Saucy Apple Pork Chops
Makes 6 servings
2 cups applesauce
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic minced
1/4 teaspoon ginger
6 boneless pork loin chops (1/2" thick)
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1. In a bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, soy sauce, garlic and ginger;
mix well. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
2. In a skillet, brown pork chops in butter; place over applesauce
mixture.
3. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 30 minutes or until meat is tender.
Serve with Stovetop Stuffing and Green Beans
Weekend Brunch
Ideas:
Bacon ‘N’ Egg Wraps
Makes 4 servings
1 onion chopped
3/4 cup green peppers chopped
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
5 eggs
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 pound bacon cooked, sliced and crumbled
4 10 inch flour tortillas warmed
1. In a nonstick skillet, sauté onion and green pepper in butter
until tender.
2. In a bowl, beat the eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Pour over
vegetables in the skillet. Sprinkle with cheese and bacon.
3. Cook and stir gently over medium heat until the eggs are
completely set.
4. Spoon 1/2 cup down the center of each tortilla; fold sides over
filling. Serve.
Delicious Desserts
Cocoa Mocha Pie
Makes 6 servings
6 Milky Way candy bars (2.05 ounces each) - divided
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons instant coffee
1 quart vanilla ice cream softened
1 chocolate or regular graham cracker pie crust
1. Finely chop four candy bars. Place in a microwave safe bowl or
double boiler. Add milk and coffee granules. Heat and stir until
melted and smooth.
2. Place ice cream in a bowl; fold in mocha mixture.
3. Spoon into crust; freeze. Remove from the freezer 15 minutes
before serving. Cut remaining candy bars into 1/2" pieces for
garnish

over town for that special ingredient!)
