A Weekly Menu Plan & Grocery List Delivered To Your E-mail Box

 

Christine Steendahl's Dine Without Whine is the perfect tool to help your family enjoy stress free and nutritious family dinners.


This Week's Recipes:

Main Dish Recipe
Tortellini Sausage Alfredo
Makes 4 servings

2 9-ounce packages frozen cheese tortellini (or spinach tortellini)
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 dash nutmeg
1/2 pound bulk Italian sausages
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped green peppers
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
4 tablespoons flour
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1. In a large pan, bring 2 quarts of water to a boil. Add the tortellini, oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder and nutmeg. Cook according to package directions.
2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook sausage, onion, green pepper, and mushrooms over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in flour until blended. Gradually add milk.
3. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
4. Drain tortellini and add to the sausage mixture. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce.

Serve with Tossed Green Salad and French bread
