Why take cod liver oil? Plenty of reasons!

It's funny how not that many years ago, I didn't know anyone who took a daily dose of cod liver oil. Now I know so many that when one of us needs to order, we fill a case in a matter of moments via e-mail messages back and forth! There are many amazing health benefits to taking cod liver oil, and don't worry, you can take the capsules. (I couldn't get the oil down, but 2 of our 4 kids take it without a single comment!) Read this post on the benefits of cod liver oil (including information on where to get the best deals, and how to get it down), but here's one way it is so good for our health: our diets these days are overloaded with omega-6 fatty acids, found in vegetable oils, processed foods, etc. Cod liver oil on the other hand, is full of omega-3 fatty acids which are desperately needed in our bodies to balance out the omega-6 fats. When the balance is out of whack, it causes many health issues. According to wikipedia.org, our diets typically have "omega-6 to omega-3 ratios in excess of 10 to 1, some as high as 30 to 1. The optimal ratio is thought to be 4 to 1 or lower." I hope you'll take a look at the post and be open to adding this important supplement to your diet.
