Catechist's Companion: The Liturgical Year by Janet Schaeffler, O.P.

The Year & Our Children: Catholic Family Celebrations for Every Season by Mary Reed Newland (Sophia Institute Press)

The Complete Children's Liturgy Book: Liturgies of the World for Years A, B, C - This is one of the most used books in my library. This comprehensive book contains complete liturgies of the word for all three liturgical years, cycles A, B and C organized according to the liturgical calendar. The book's wonderful introduction gives a great overview of the nature and function of the Liturgy of the Word for children and describes the order used in the book.  For each Sunday, the following items are included: Introduction, Sign of the Cross, Lighting of the Candles, "Sorry", Gloria, Gospel Acclamation, Gospel reading, Discussion, Activity, Creed and Closing Prayer. The bonus feature of the book is a great illustration/activity that can be reproduced each week. These activities are more than just coloring pages. Many are crafts, activities, paper dolls, worksheets and much more.  I would recommend that this book be used not only by catechists, but also by parents looking to make the Sunday Liturgy of the Word truly come alive in their own homes. I refer to this reference frequently. You'll be happy that you invested in this resource for your students and for your own family! Click here for more information

God Listens to Our Children: Kids' Prayers for Every Day of the Liturgical Year - This book helps children ages second through eighth grade learn more about God speaking to them through scripture each day.  The book features a list of Mass readings for each day of the liturgical calendar, the refrain from each day's Responsorial Psalm, a brief personal prayer based on a reading and a daily point of reference to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  This book is an ideal reference for families, classrooms, homeschoolers or school Principals.

Lent Easter Book (Living and Celebrating Our Catholic Customs and Traditions)

The Lent –Easter Book is designed for use by teachers, DRE’s, parents and any one interested in passing on to children our faith traditions and symbols. The reproducible section contains material that you can use throughout the Lent-Easter season. There is a guide for the Sacrament of Reconciliation that can be reproduced and made by the students. One page plays on the scenes from the Way of the Cross can be used as dramatized prayers, discussion starters, or class plays. Two versions of Stations of the Cross booklets (one for younger children, one for older children) are provided. Many activities and reproducible pages.
