 WaterBrook Press, August 2010
 Hardcover, 40 pages

Did you ever stop to ponder why we place a star on the top of our Christmas trees? In ***[Little Star](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0307458059/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=catholicmomcom&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=0307458059), ***a wonderful book by bestselling author Anthony DeStefano ([The Invisible World](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0385522231/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=catholicmomcom&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=0385522231), [Ten Prayers God Always Says Yes To](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/038550991X/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=catholicmomcom&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=038550991X)) young readers and the grown ups who love them hear the story behind the very little star with a lot of heart who gave his all on the night Jesus was born.

***[Little Star](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0307458059/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=catholicmomcom&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=0307458059) ***is more than simply a Christmas story. First written as a creative writing assignment [when DeStefano was in high school](http://anthonydestefano.com/landing/blogs/LittleStar_01.htm), this adorable picture book tells the story of one tiny little star who recognized the truth behind a savior being born in obscurity and poverty in a stable. Like each of us, this tiniest of all the stars had a gift to give -- and he gave his all so that the world would recognize the truth behind Jesus' birth.

***[Little Star](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0307458059/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=catholicmomcom&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=0307458059) ***is a story to share with the little ones in your life, the ones who need to know that even though they are small, they too have precious gifts to share. The book's artwork by Mark Elliott, especially his illustrations of the Holy Family, and DeStefano's inspirational story are so lovely you'll want to keep this book out and share it all year long.
