The Secret Cardinal
by Tom Grace
Paperback, 304 pages
I recently came across a copy of The Secret Cardinal and it caught my interest. Although I had never read anything by Tom Grace, I am an avid mystery fan and love any books that bring in the Church in a positive way. Even though it is a little dated (2007), I really enjoyed the book.
I was immediately sucked into the plot. Nolan Kilkenny and his friends are likable, smart and adventuresome as well as moral. I loved the setting at the Vatican, as well as in China. The plot is fast moving and full of excitement. It was one of those books that I didn’t want to end. I defiantly want to read about more of Nolan Kilkenny’s exploits.
Although Grace has written several books before The Secret Cardinal, you can jump right into the book and be caught up. I plan to add Grace’s other books to my “must read” list. I usually choose the books I read by author (I tend to favor women authors), I will defiantly add Tom Grace to my list of favorites.
