Charlotte, NC (October 3, 2011).— Saint Benedict Press announced today the launch of Catholic Courses, a new imprint offering audio and video lectures on the Catholic intellectual tradition from some of the best minds in the Church.

Offerings in Catholic Courses’ debut catalogue include Saints with a Past, Seven Myths about the Catholic Church & Science, The Four Last Things, and The Hidden Meaning of the Lord of the Rings. Coming courses venture into the genres of bioethics, Scripture exegesis, philosophy, and Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Catholic Courses introduces people of all walks of life—whether students, workers, caregivers or retirees—to the Catholic intellectual tradition in an engaging and accessible way. Each Catholic Course consists of 8 lectures, approximately 30 minutes each. Courses are enhanced with exciting visual aids, come with extensive, full color lecture guides, and are taught by distinguished scholars and authors. Current Catholic Courses Professors include Thomas Craughwell, Ben Wiker, Regis Martin, and Joseph Pearce.

“Catholic Courses presents the heritage of Christendom, explained and illustrated in fascinating lectures by some of the greatest minds in the Church,” says Pearce, who also serves as Executive Director of the imprint. “Each 30 minute lecture is a private tutorial by a faithful professor … enjoyed from the comfort of home, on the go in your car, on a jog or at the gym.”

Courses are available now for preorder at CatholicCourses.com, for delivery in audio or video format in early December.
