The Cat in the Hat has become quite a character. His TV show is one of my girls' favorites in the mornings when it's on PBS, and now we have a whole new reason to love him.

He's going to space and taking us with him, via Oceanhouse Media's There's No Place Like Space. It has become a fast favorite of ours.

As children explore this animated omBook, they will discover special interactive learning moments that reinforce specific topics. Users can tap stars in the sky to reveal constellations; learn the order of the planets in our solar system through a Seussian mnemonic device; search the night sky for planets using a telescope; find hidden information cards from Thing One and Thing Two; and even access an instant glossary by tapping on special highlighted words.

The narration is great as well (something that I'm always sensitive to: far too many kid apps have ridiculous and annoying voices!), and it's the sort of app you can sit down with your child and play with or one that they can explore on their own.

Find it on iTunes for $5.99 and then savor the time you'll spend learning and laughing with your children!
