Buffalo, New York – December 27, 2011 – The Station of the Cross Catholic Radio Network and WLOF 101.7 FM is pleased to announce a Catholic Lenten Women’s conference entitled Behold, I Make All Things New, scheduled for March 17th at the Hearthstone Manor in Depew, NY.

The conference will feature notable Catholic media expert Teresa Tomeo, author and host of the syndicated talk show “Catholic Connection” heard weekdays on the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network. Tomeo’s talk will focus on finding personal fulfillment in God and the depth, beauty, and truth of the Catholic Church’s teaching on women.  In addition to Teresa, former top model Leah Darrow, from the hit reality show “America’s Next Top Model” and current speaker for Catholic Answers, will present a talk on faith and fashion. Joining Teresa and Leah is Mother Olga Yaqob, known endearingly as “The Mother Theresa of Baghdad.”  Mother Olga is the foundress and mother servant of the Daughter of Mary of Nazareth. She will share her reflections on how God can use us despite our imperfections.

The emcee for the conference is Emmy award-winning WGRZ news anchor Maryalice Demler.  A local news favorite, Maryalice has covered such prestigious stories such as the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Pope John Paul II's funeral in Rome, Italy, Buffalo native and NBC political analyst Tim Russert's funeral in Washington, DC, and Pope Benedict's visit to New York City.  National recording artist, Marian Grace, will provide music for the conference and Mass. Local priest, Fr. Rick Poblocki, will be the celebrant and homilist for the Mass.

Jim Wright, President and General Manager of WLOF, states, “The Lenten women’s conference will be a grace-filled event for women of all ages. It will be a great opportunity for women to spend some time in reflection during Lent.  It will also be an ideal pairing to the yearly local men’s Lenten conference that takes place one week later.”

Conference tickets, which include a boxed lunch, can be purchased at an early bird rate of $40 (with a student discount rate of $30) until March 1st.  After March 1st, all prices are $50.  Admission at the door is $60.  Buy nine tickets and the tenth is free. Vendors are welcome.  For more information or to register, please go to www.wlof.net or call toll-free 877-888-6279, ext. 105.
