This week's board of the week is just getting started, but the minute I saw Vintage Boston Catholic it won my heart. This board which highlights photos from Blessed John Paul II's October 1979 visit to Boston is a flashback to a vastly different age -- check out the photo of Blessd JP II in the presidential limo for a true classic.

Vintage Boston Catholic is one of fifteen from the Archdiocese of Boston, which always seems to lead the way in the creative employment of emerging technology tools in the New Evangelization. While you're checking out their boards, you'll certainly also want to follow their Catholic Events board if you live anywhere in the region. Kudos to the staff at the Archdiocese for using Pinterest to inform, evangelize and inspire!

And here's a question for you: if your parish or diocese were to begin using Pinterest to share news and information, what types of things would you like to find pinned on their boards?

One final treat for you — our good friend Allison Girone of the Catholic Pinterest Group Board has kindly agreed to offer a weekly pointer for us on how to use some best practices to enjoy and effectively employ Pinterest. Here’s this week’s tip from Allison:

Bloggers, want to be pinned? Put an image on each of your posts. In fact, find an image that evokes the focus of your post. On Pinterest, it's the image that grabs attention. You'll be amazed with the traffic Pinterest can bring to your blog. There are readers who only need words and there are readers who need pictures with words. You can attract them both..

If you’re a Catholic using Pinterest, please drop a link in the comments below to share your boards. Also, I’d love to hear about why you love Pinterest and how you think this latest craze might be used to spread the Good News.
