Jun 6, 2012 12:00:03 PM  |  by [Lisa M. Hendey](https://www.catholicmom.com/articles/author/lisa-m-hendey) *Editor's Note: Yesterday, I received the fantastic news that my friend and colleague Dan Lord has been appointed at the new Managing Editor at [Catholic Exchange](http://catholicexchange.com/). As a big fan of Dan (and of course his lovely wife [Hallie](http://www.bettybeguiles.com/)) and a longtime contributor at CE, I couldn't be more pleased by this announcement. BUT, Catholic Exchange needs our help both financially and in terms of prayer support to move forward. Please read the following "plea" and share what you can to ensure a bright future for a true Catholic gem on the Internet. LMH* [![](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png "Catholic Exchange")](http://catholicmom.com/2012/06/06/our-friends-at-catholic-exchange-need-your-help/screen-shot-2012-06-06-at-8-14-26-am/) **Each day the staff here at [Catholic Exchange](http://catholicexchange.com/catholic-exchange-needs-your-help-please/www.catholicexchange.com) works tirelessly** to bring you the latest world news and cutting-edge commentary from a Catholic perspective. Always faithful to the authentic teachings of the Church, Catholic Exchange equips readers with the ideas and arguments necessary to navigate the ideological (and often heretical) minefields of the day. Best of all, Catholic Exchange is available for free to all who are seeking to understand both the political and cultural battles ahead. While our own self-imposed austerity measures allow us to run Catholic Exchange on a fraction of previous years’, as a non-profit publication operating without subscription revenue, **[we are dependent upon your support](http://catholicexchange.com/donate-to-ce/).****** Everything you read on Catholic Exchange is free.  But it isn’t free to produce.  And that’s why we have to turn to you—our loyal reader—from time to time to ask for [your support.](http://catholicexchange.com/donate-to-ce/) We need to raise $20,000 to operate through the Summer.  That’s really not a lot of money considering the high-quality content we provide each and every day. I ask that you consider [making a donation](http://catholicexchange.com/donate-to-ce/) to Catholic Exchange right now.  And I ask that you be as generous as you possibly can.  Whether you give $5 or $25 or $500 or more, please know that no gift is too small and no gift is too large. Your gift to Catholic Exchange is [tax-deductible](http://catholicexchange.com/donate-to-ce/).  Please help us ensure Catholic Exchange* *will be here during this most critical moment for the Church and America. Challenging times are ahead.  We need your help today, if we are to fight tomorrow. **Please make your tax deductible gift today!** Sincerely, [Your friends](http://catholicexchange.com/whos-who-at-catholic-exchange/) at Catholic Exchange. ### Share this article [![Share on Facebook](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/facebook-24x24.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2012%2F06%2F06%2Four-friends-at-catholic-exchange-need-your-help%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on Twitter](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/twitter-24x24.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2012%2F06%2F06%2Four-friends-at-catholic-exchange-need-your-help%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2012%2F06%2F06%2Four-friends-at-catholic-exchange-need-your-help%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Our%20Friends%20at%20Catholic%20Exchange%20Need%20Your%20Help%21) [![Share on Email](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/email-24x24.png)](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2012%2F06%2F06%2Four-friends-at-catholic-exchange-need-your-help%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail%20&body=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2012%2F06%2F06%2Four-friends-at-catholic-exchange-need-your-help%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail) ** #### About the Author ![Lisa M.
