The well-narrated, dramatic audio bible feature will allow you to listen to scripture while you jog, drive, or cook diner. The feature I like best is the search feature. A great way to get the big picture and understand biblical themes is to search for a keyword and read every reference to that word in scripture. Another index studies the roots and usage of specific words in the bible.

One very nice feature is the playlist. The app comes with two preloaded playlists, one of which will guide you through the New Testament in 40 days. You may also set up your own playlists of favorite verses, a wonderful way to memorize scripture or to bolster yourself in the fight against specific temptations.

$29.99 is a considerable sum for an app, but it is a very competitive price for an interactive study bible of this caliber, especially one with audio approved by the Vatican.  Lighthouse, Ignatius Press is a very reliable Catholic media company and their study bible is very thorough. The indexes will surely expand your knowledge of scripture and the audio reading will bring you deep into the living Word. Well worth $29.99!
