Lawn Chair Catechism, Session 14: Concluding Thoughts

This week, we'll be sharing our concluding thoughts.

A few of my thoughts:

We've spent the entire summer journeying through this book together. I'll admit: reading this book slowly like this has had a different impact on me than I expected. I found myself sharing this book in a more detailed way than I would have otherwise: my temptation would have been to whip through it and read it in a few days.

I was particularly struck by the idea of kerygma, the idea that Jesus is the whole reason for everything we do. Period.

We have to have a relationship with Jesus.

I feel like Bill Engvall might be waiting in the wings to hand me my sign...but there it is. It's so obvious and so easy to lose sight of.

Truly, this was one of the best books I've read, and it's applicable to every area of my Catholic faith life, from my work in our parish to my work here at CatholicMom.com to my family life to my interior life.
