SmallSteps(300x300)Thank you to everyone who prayed and took Small Steps with us around the blogosphere in the last two weeks.

During the contest, we were highly amused by all the entries for the "Five Minutes Alone" contest.

Let the rumor be put to rest: most of us (yes, I'm including myself) hide out in the bathroom in one way or another. So maybe that's a place where you can remember the other moms who are on the journey with you, who are struggling in the day-to-day, who are enjoying the moments of grace that abound around them.

The winner for the "Five Minutes" Alone contest was Kelly McClintock. Kelly painted a picture for us of just what moms will do to get five minutes alone:

When my son was little, I had to have an important work call and I could not get away from my toddler and his jabbering - I ended up throwing a heavy blanket and comforter OVER the table, then, sitting under that table to somewhat muffle the noise in my house.

Congratulations, Kelly, and THANK YOU again to everyone who entered. We were overwhelmed with the entries and we're hoping to do something like this again soon.

Now go, give yourself a five-minute break. Here's a final dose of Small Steps for Catholic Moms to accompany you:

Think:

If you seek patience, you will find no better example than the cross. Great patience occurs in two ways: either when one patiently suffers much, or when one suffers things which one is able to avoid and yet does not avoid. Christ endured much on the cross, and did so patiently, because when he suffered he did not threaten; he was led like a sheep to the slaughter and he did not open his mouth. -St. Thomas Aquinas

Pray

Good Shepherd, I want to follow you. Keep my eyes focused on your face and my ears tuned to your voice.

Act

Set a timer to go off once an hour today. Every time it rings, turn your heart toward God and offer him the next sixty minutes of your day.
