# Catholic Relief Services -- Cardinal McCarrick in the Philippines: “They’re not alone”

Nov 20, 2013 2:00:13 PM  |  by [Lisa M. Hendey](https://www.catholicmom.com/articles/author/lisa-m-hendey)

Retired Archbishop Cardinal McCarrick recently traveled with CRS to the Philippines, where he witnessed the destruction caused by Typhoon Haiyan but also the resilience of the Filipino people in the face of this disaster. [Watch the full interview with Cardinal McCarrick here](http://bcove.me/d0i1zw7m).

[**Please consider an immediate gift to Catholic Relief Services** to aid typhoon victims](https://secure.crs.org/site/Donation2?df_id=6140&6140.donation=form1). Catholic Relief Services, in cooperation with their partners, is on the ground helping people meet most urgent needs, including water purification, shelter materials and essential living supplies.

*We’re building a wonderful partnership with our friends at [Catholic Relief Services](http://www.catholicrelief.org/) and are happy to spread the news about their great work being done around the world. We’ll be regularly sharing information and stories from both the [FaithWorks section of CRS](http://faithworks.crs.org/) and their other initiatives as well. This week, I want to point you to the following stories that are sure to inspire:*
