Peace on Earth: A Christmas Collection by Mary Engelbreit

This book has been a perfect addition to our family. We love to sing Christmas Carols as we light the candles on our Advent wreath after dinner each night. This book makes that tradition easy, as it includes adorably illustrated classics, such as “What Child is This” and “The Friendly Beasts.”

I especially liked her retelling of the story of the three wise men. It is heartfelt, deepening the reader’s understanding of the Christmas season. This book is refreshing. It takes a spiritual approach to the holidays, and it shies away from the stories about Santa, shopping, and how many presents are under the tree.

It will touch people of all socioeconomic backgrounds, and will delight the imaginations of young and old alike!
