healing the 21st family

The “Healing the 21st Century” conference/retreat, to be held February 15, 2014, in Carlsbad, Calif., is a means for those negatively affected by divorce, contraception, abortion, donor conception, and the hook-up culture, to find the support and healing they need.

Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Founder and President of the Ruth Institute, stated, “There are too many walking wounded out there—people who have been lied to by the Sexual Revolutionaries. It is our aim to help these people find healing.”

Among the targeted audience for this conference are children of divorce, the reluctantly divorced, and the “heart-broken career woman”--that is, women who were told they could “have it all” by focusing on a career and putting off starting a family, explains Morse. “Now these women are in their mid-thirties and are miserable because they want children and are suddenly discovering that they aren’t able to. Their prime child-bearing days are behind them. Now they can’t conceive without the aid of expensive, humiliating, and oftentimes dangerous fertility treatments,” Morse added.

The full-day conference promises an intense day of education, reflection, and meditation with a top-notch group of speakers including Bill Duncan, Esq. of the Marriage Law Foundation; Kent Peters, Director of the Office of Social Ministry for the San Diego Diocese; Jennifer Theime, founder of KidsDivorceStories.com; Alana Newman, founder of The Anonymous Us Project for donor-conceived persons such as herself; Claire Frazier-Yzaguirre, a therapist with Thriving Families; as well as Dr. Morse herself.

The conference is open to men and women of all ages who have been affected by these issues or who simply want to learn more about how to help others in these situations.
