Iesodo (pronounced Yay-Sa-Doe) is an animated series based on Bible principles. He is a wise dove whose name means “The Way of Jesus.” He lives with other birds in a cypress tree on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The birds are all uniquely different, except that they have followed Iesodo since meeting him and their lives will never be the same. There are three DVDs in the series: Believe, Love, and Faith. I had the opportunity to watch Love and Faith with my 5-year-old son.
Each DVD contains two stories along with bonus features such as, sing-a-longs, music videos, interviews, and Bible verses. The stories are based on the Bible and are easy for children to understand. In the Faith DVD, Iesodo multiplied fish and nuts for the great crowd of birds who were hungry, instead of fish and bread. In the Love DVD, the water turns to nectar for the wedding feast, instead of wine.
The music is the best part. My son and I have fallen in love with the songs and they bring you into the story. You will find yourself singing them for days later. The characters in the story portray people with faults and the animation is so cute that you will want to watch these DVDs over and over. Your children will want to learn more about Jesus as they watch His teachings through Iesodo and his friends. This series is fun, entertaining, and something the whole family will love. And Jesus is at the heart of it all!
