Today's Gospel: Matthew 22:1-14
We’re met with a challenging parable this morning: The Wedding Feast. The metaphor is simple, but the implications are huge.
God invites us to spend eternity with Him in His kingdom. He graciously extends the invitation over and over throughout our lives. But, not only must we accept the invitation, we must prepare accordingly.
It is not enough for us to say that we accept Jesus as our Savior. We also need to stay in His good graces.
Spread the Gospel. Visit Confession often. Reject sin.
These aren’t easy things to do, but I didn’t read that they were. Hold on, I’ll check the parable again…Nope. Nothing about easy.
Ponder:
What is my biggest roadblock to eternal life with God? Take one small step to overcoming this obstacle today.
Pray:
Lord, open my eyes to everything that stands between us. Help me detest all of these things.
