Today's Gospel: John 19:25 - 27
I love today’s Gospel. Jesus illustrates how much he loves his mother and his disciple. He commends his mother to the care of John. This is a beautiful gesture of love and trust. It also illustrates how despite immense suffering, Jesus continues to put others ahead of his own concerns. Jesus never stops giving.
Ponder:
How can I follow Jesus’ footsteps and put the concerns of others ahead of my own? How can I become a person like the disciple that Jesus entrusted his mother to?
Pray:
Jesus, help me to follow your example and become selfless so that I may tend to the needs of others ahead of my own. Guide me on this journey so others will know that you are present in my life. Amen.
