cover Grace of Yes 3D

In a time when so many people are so busy and overwhelmed by the tasks of their daily lives; at a time when there is an abundance of articles written on how to say No, Lisa M. Hendey has written a book about The Grace of Yes:  Eight Virtues for Generous Living.  And throughout the eight chapters, she shows us why our Yes brings us grace.

Lisa writes in a clear and engaging manner, sharing herself so well that I almost felt I was having coffee with her.  She is funny and refreshingly honest about herself and her Yeses.  She treats other people’s stories of difficult Yeses with the reverence and dignity they deserved.

I laughed and cried and saw myself many times over in this book.  My two favorite chapters are "The Grace of Creativity" and "The Grace of Vulnerability."

The Grace of Yes would be a great book for a book club.  Each chapter includes a To Ponder section with questions to think about and prayer to close the chapter.

You will not be disappointed in this book. Reading it is an opportunity to look at your life, especially in light of the words of St. Francis, “it is in giving that we receive.”  Lisa challenges us to live out the Gospel in our daily life, saying “Yes” to God and the people and situations he puts in our path.  Give yourself a gift and say Yes to The Grace of Yes.
