The cast of characters is strange and exotic: shepherds and magicians, an emperor and a despot, angels, and a baby who is Almighty God. The strangeness calls for an explanation, and this book provides it by examining the characters and the story in light of the biblical and historical context. Bestselling author Scott Hahn who has written extensively on Scripture and the early Church, brings evidence to light, dispelling some of the mystery of the story. Yet Christmas is made familiar all over again by showing it to be a family story. Christmas, as it appears in the New Testament, is the story of a father, a mother, and a child -- their relationships, their interactions, their principles, their individual lives, and their common life. To see the life of this "earthly trinity" is to gaze into heaven. ### [Let Us Adore Him: Daily Reflections for Advent and Christmas](https://www.amazon.com/Let-Adore-Him-Reflections-Christmas/dp/1616366664/ref=sr_1_2?crid=R39G5NSZCAFJ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Q0q7cNaY-EpZr4uTVwH8IKoQB-yuJ_etT6gsz_U2VmfVuTVDNF-omMYf6Fm95o5_gsU1GrzO6ZneDI5E0W3kkr8DvJiGEgMjonHc1rsvcVdwqqlCQNvTeLPuxjQ1ngVK.w0X5aAINdP6_fFbuOVKqkHnDwqHfyq3irlBDoeR8III&dib_tag=se&keywords=Let+Us+Adore+Him%3A+Daily+Reflections+for+Advent+and+Christmas&qid=1752677151&s=books&sprefix=let+us+adore+him+daily+reflections+for+advent+and+christmas%2Cstripbooks%2C85&sr=1-2) ![cover-let us adore him fragomeni](https://www.catholicmom.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/cover-let-us-adore-him-fragomeni-290x400-3.jpg?width=290&height=400&name=cover-let-us-adore-him-fragomeni-290x400-3.jpg) By Richard Fragomeni (Franciscan Media, 2014) About the book: > *Let Us Adore Him* will enhance your preparation for and celebration of Christmas. From the First Sunday of Advent through the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, you will find inspiration for your Advent and Christmas prayer time. Noted liturgist Fr. Richard Fragomeni weaves the Communion Antiphon from each day's liturgy into a thoughtful, prayerful meditation. ### [A Eucharistic Christmas: Advent Meditations on the Presence of Christ](https://www.amazon.com/Eucharistic-Christmas-Advent-Meditations-Presence/dp/161636808X) ![cover-eucharistic christmas](https://www.catholicmom.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/cover-eucharistic-christmas-333x400-3.jpg?width=333&height=400&name=cover-eucharistic-christmas-333x400-3.jpg) By Editors of Servant Books (Servant Books, 2014) About the book: > During Advent we sing “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.” We focus on the birth of Jesus, this innocent child who came into our world to be our Savior. He is Emmanuel, God with us. But Advent and the Christmas season is also the perfect time to reflect on the fact that God is with us always, and particularly in his Eucharistic presence. This book offers a simple meditation from a well-known Christian writer each day from December 1st through the twelve days after Christmas, a few thoughts to help you respond to Christ’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament, and a prayer to help you open your heart. The meditations focus on: > > - The Scriptural basis for understanding the Eucharist > - How to prepare to receive the Lord > - What to do when you pray before the Blessed Sacrament > - The difference a holy hour can make > - The experiences of those who have spent time in adoration > > During this holy season, Mary’s example as she carried Jesus in her womb can show us how Jesus takes flesh in our own lives when we receive him with reverence. ### Share this article [![Share on Facebook](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/facebook-24x24.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2014%2F11%2F29%2Fweekly-giveaway-little-people-nativity-and-advent-books%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on Twitter](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/twitter-24x24.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2014%2F11%2F29%2Fweekly-giveaway-little-people-nativity-and-advent-books%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2014%2F11%2F29%2Fweekly-giveaway-little-people-nativity-and-advent-books%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Advent%2FChristmas%20Resources%20for%20Adults%20and%20Kids) [![Share on Email](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/email-24x24.png)](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2014%2F11%2F29%2Fweekly-giveaway-little-people-nativity-and-advent-books%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail%20&body=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2014%2F11%2F29%2Fweekly-giveaway-little-people-nativity-and-advent-books%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail) ** #### About the Author ![Sarah Reinhard](https://www.catholicmom.com/hubfs/_catholicmom/Contriubutors/SARAH%20REINHARD.jpeg) ### [Sarah Reinhard](https://www.catholicmom.com/articles/author/sarah-reinhard) When she’s not chasing kids, chugging coffee, or juggling work, Sarah Reinhard’s usually trying to stay up read just one … more … chapter.
