Join Us in Prayers for the Tighe Family

Friends, I invite you to join with me and our entire CatholicMom.com family in praying for love, healing and peace for a family who has become a very special part of our community. I had hesitated to write about this publicly out of concern for the privacy of the family, but their courageous witness of faith has encouraged me to involve you in this intercessory petition.

Tommy Tighe and his wife Karen recently made the decision to share a harrowing prenatal diagnosis with readers at Aleteia:

Recently, rather than walking out of the ultrasound with a long string of pictures of our son, we walked out in misery, with a fatal diagnosis of renal agenesis.

While our baby will continue to develop and grow in the safety of my wife’s womb throughout her otherwise normal pregnancy, he is only expected to be able to survive for a matter of minutes once he is born. More

By sharing this very sad news, the Tighe family invites us into a mission of prayer for not only their precious son, but for other families like theirs who have made a valiant choice for life.

Today, I ask you to unite with us in prayer. Inspired by the beautiful spiritual leadership of Sr. Theresa Aletheia Noble, we lift the Tighe family and this precious little boy into the arms of God through the intercession of Blessed James Alberione:

Lord, glorify Blessed James Alberione
in Your Church.
Let him be for all of us light.
Guide and support the work of
our sanctification and in our apostolate.
Open the way for evangelization
so that the presence of Jesus Master,
the Way, the Truth and the Life
may shine on the world through Mary,
