Consagrar Sua Família a Nossa Senhora (To Consecrate Your Family to Our Lady)

Todos nós sabemos os grandes desafios que enfrentamos para educar nossos filhos na fé e manter nossa família unida no amor a Deus e fiel aos ensinamentos da Igreja. Assim, precisamos utilizar de todos os meios disponíveis para nos ajudar a cumprir essa missão.

Um dos meios mais eficazes para conseguir caminhar rumo a este ideal, é a consagração à Nossa Senhora, pois ela é a auxiliar permanente de Cristo, considerada a Medianeira de todas as Graças e sua missão, como Serva do Senhor, é ajudar a todos os seus filhos a progredirem no caminho do bem e da virtude.

Consagrar sua família à Nossa Senhora significa colocar o cuidado pela família, o sustento material, a educação dos filhos, tudo nas mãos da Mãe de Deus, para que ela assuma esta responsabilidade de velar pela felicidade da família, para que a família consiga realizar seu ideal de ser a mais bela comunidade de vida e de amor.

Esta Mãe cheia de graça deseja continuar a sua missão, que é conduzir todos a seu divino Filho Jesus e, ao consagrar sua família a seus cuidados, ela realmente assume a condução do lar para que cada membro alcance o ideal pensado por Deus Pai a cada um e assim se tornem realmente pessoas felizes e realizadas.

O Pe. Angel Strada nos diz sobre Maria: “Ela é especialista na questão familiar. Como mãe verdadeira, compreende as dificuldades, anima na luta, consola na dor, dá forças apara a forjadura do amor e da unidade familiar. Educadora eficaz, ela assinala os ideais mais elevados e concede energias para alcançá-los, atuando realmente nos corações. Ela realiza sua tarefa educativa pela influência e pela irradiação de sua personalidade. (...) Sua presença do seio da família cria uma atmosfera de afeição, alegria, intimidade, abnegação e paz. Nela se acham encarnadas as virtudes plasmadoras de uma ‘Igreja doméstica’.

A forma de consagrar sua família à Nossa Senhora pode ser bastante simples, uma oração de consagração é suficiente. Aqui temos um exemplo de como pode ser essa oração:

“Querida Mãe e Rainha, nós te convidamos a tomar posse de nossa família e estabelecer-te nela com seu filho Jesus. Tu conheces nossas esperanças e angústias, nossos sucessos e dificuldades. A Ti entregamos tudo o que temos e somos, nossos trabalhos, lutas, esforços e preocupações. Ajude nossa família a ser verdadeiramente cristã, que nela reine o amor, a concórdia, a alegria e a paz. Transforma-nos em pessoas que se esforçam diariamente para conhecer e amar a Deus e viver de acordo com seus ensinamentos. Mãe, cuide de nossa família! Amém.”

É aconselhável ainda montar no lar um pequeno oratório, com a imagem de Nossa Senhora, uma Cruz, talvez com um local para acender uma vela, ou realizar a leitura bíblica.

Todavia, a vivência e o cultivo desta consagração é que são mais importantes, podendo ser refletida na oração do terço, individual ou em família, orações diárias renovando esta consagração, novenas, peregrinações a Santuários marianos, enfim, tudo aquilo que demonstre o amor da família pela Mãe de Deus e sua intenção de que ela cuide e proteja cada membro da família.

Pouco a pouco é necessário adotar um estilo de vida mariano, ou seja, pai, mãe e filhos devem procurar viver unidos no amor, o que implica saber compartilhar as dores e alegrias, buscando realizar a vontade de Deus para suas vidas, lutando por este bem comum, este projeto de vida, pois esse é o exemplo da vida de Maria.

Muitas são as graças que Deus pode nos conceder através de Maria, em nosso próprio lar: a harmonia do casal, a compreensão de cada filho, a abertura ao diálogo, a superação de falhas de caráter ou de temperamento, o sentir-se abrigado em Deus, a transformação interior de cada membro da família, o ardor pelo apostolado, por desejar transmitir toda a riqueza do próprio lar para outras famílias, enfim, muitas e muitas graças.

Mais uma vez vejamos o que diz o Pe. Angel Strada: “A Virgem Maria assume a responsabilidade de criar em nossas famílias, um pequeno paraíso. Ela quer formar e educar nossas famílias como reflexo de sua própria família, a Família de Nazaré. Que características tem essa família ideal, esse paraíso familiar? A Virgem quer criar em nossos lares um paraíso de amor: amor paternal, amor filial, amor a Deus e a Maria, amor aos irmãos. E também quer transformar nossa família em um paraíso de pureza, de alegria e de liberdade. Nele devem reinar a verdade e a justiça, o espírito de luta e de vitória. (...) Com outras palavras, a Santíssima Virgem pretende fazer de cada uma de nossas famílias um pequeno reino de Deus.”

Portanto, para transformar nossa casa em um verdadeiro Santuário de Nossa Senhora, é preciso consagrar a família inteiramente a ela e esforçar-se sempre pela santidade, realizando a parte que cabe a cada um, o 1% (um por cento) da colaboração humana, sendo que o restante, os outros 99% (noventa e nove por cento) a Mãe de Deus certamente realizará.

To Consecrate Your Family to Our Lady

We all know the big challenges we face to educate our children in the Faith and keep our family united in the love of God and faithful to the Church´s teachings. This way, we need to use all the means available to help us to fulfill this mission.

One of the most effective ways to walk to this ideal is the consecration to Our Lady, because she is the permanent helper of Christ, considered the Mediatrix of all Graces. Her mission, as the Handmaid of the Lord, is to help all her children to progress in the path of good and virtue.

To consecrate your family to Our Lady means to put the care for the family, the material sustenance, the children's education, everything in the hands of the Mother of God. This way she can assumes this responsibility to ensure the happiness of the family, so that the family manage to accomplish its ideal, which is to become the most beautiful community of life and love.

This Mother full of grace wishes to continue her mission, which is to lead everybody to her divine Son Jesus and, by consecrating your family to her care, she really assumes the driving of your home so each member reaches the ideal intended by God the Father for each one and this way becomes a really happy and fulfilled person.

Fr. Angel Strada tells us about Mary:

“She is the specialist in family matters. As a real mother, she understands the difficulties, encourage in the struggles, comfort in pain, gives strength to build love and family union. She is an effective educator; she marks the highest ideals and give energy to reach them, really acting in the hearts. She accomplishes her educative task by her influence and by the irradiation of her personality. Her presence in the midst of the family creates an atmosphere of affection, joy, intimacy, abnegation and peace. In her, we find embodied the virtues that formative of the ‘domestic Church’.

The way to consecrate your Family to Our Lady can be really simple; a prayer of consecration is enough. Here is an example of how this prayer can be:

“Dear Mother and Queen, we invite you to take possession of our family and establish here with your son Jesus. You know our hopes and anguishes, our successes and difficulties. To you we give everything that we have and are, our works, struggles, efforts and worries. Help our family to be truly Christian, that in it reigns love, harmony, joy and peace. Transform us into persons who daily strive to know and love God and live accordingly to His teachings. Mother, take care of our family! Amen.”

It is advisable to set up a little prayer corner, with the image of Our Lady, a Cross, and maybe a place to light a candle or to read the Bible.

However, the most important thing is how you live and cultivate this consecration, and that can be done with the prayer of the Rosary, as individual or as a family, daily prayer renewing this consecration, novenas, and pilgrimages to Marian Shrines. Ultimately everything that shows the family's love to the Mother of God and its intention that she takes care and protect each family's members.

Little by little it is necessary to adopt a Marian life style, in other words, father, mother and children should seek to live united in love, which implicates knowing to share pain or joy, looking to accomplish God's will to their lives, fighting for this common good, this life project, because this is the example of Mary's life.

Many are the blessings that God may give to us through Mary, in our home: the couple's harmony, the comprehension of each child, openness to dialogue, overcoming of character or temper flaws, feeling sheltered in God, the inner transformation of each family's member, the apostolate's zeal, the wish to transmit all the richness of the home to other families, and so on.

One more time let us see what Fr. Angel Strada tells us:

“Virgin Mary takes the responsibility of creating in our families, a small Paradise. She wants to form and educate our families as the reflection of her own family, the Family of Nazareth. What are the characteristics of this ideal family, this family paradise? The Virgin wants to create in our home a paradise of love: paternal love, filial love, love to God and Mary, love to brothers and sisters. And also she wants to transform our family into a purity paradise, of joy and freedom. There should reign the truth and justice, the fighter spirit and victory. (…) In other words, the Blessed Virgin pretends to make each one of our families a small kingdom of God.”

So, to transform our home in a truly Shrine of Our Lady, it is necessary to consecrate the family fully to her and always strive for sanctity, fulfilling each one´s part, the 1% (one percent) of human collaboration, and the rest, the other 99% (ninety-nine percent) the Mother of God certainly will fulfill.
