In his recent exhortation Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis notes that teens today are bombarded with a myriad of serious moral questions about life, love and sexuality on a routine basis. Gender identity, pornography, homosexuality, and many others are topics teens face daily. Answering the Pope’s appeal for leaders to present young people with positive influences, Ascension Press released YOU: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body, a fully updated presentation on the Church’s teachings on family, marriage and sexuality.

you_bundle“The Theology of the Body is what I need, what my students need, what the whole world needs to understand and live God’s plan,” said Brian Butler, co-author along with Jason and Crystalina Evert, of YOU: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body.

This program which draws on the timeless wisdom of St. Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and Love and Responsibility is an updated version of Ascension Press’s Theology of the Body for Teens High School Edition, a landmark program that was groundbreaking when it was released ten years ago and has continued to be popular for parish, school and youth group formation. But Ascension recognized that teens today face issues that weren’t even on the table 10 years ago.

“The cultural landscape has changed so much we had to revise and update the program to meet the new demands required to teach this message of life and love,” said Jason Evert.

YOU uses skillfully crafted and quick-paced video presentations to prompt small group discussion, a hallmark of Ascension’s programs, along with interactive written materials that feature a wide-range of Catholic presenters and writers. YOU  is designed specifically to catch the attention of modern teens.

The study confronts modern issues like in an authentically Catholic way. Abortion, transgenderism and pornography, same-sex attraction and contraception are dealt with honestly and in truth, but with charity and love, offering hope for those who may already be struggling with these challenges.

YOU presenters Jason and Crystalina Evert have spoken on six continents to more than one million people about the virtue of chastity and are authors of more than ten books on the subject. Jason has appeared on Fox News, MSNBC, the BBC, and EWTN and is a frequent guest on radio programs throughout the country. Brian Butler has over 15 years of youth ministry experience, and is a popular speaker and trainer around the country. Brian Butler is Executive Director and Co-founder of Dumb Ox Ministries in Louisiana, a non-profit organization offering evangelization and formation for teens, young adults, and families through the lens of the Theology of the Body.
