The biggest challenge in raising children today, according to parents and non-parents alike, is dealing with the outside influences of society. Children are growing up immersed in all things digital. Interactive media has become an integral part of children’s daily life. CCC endeavors to utilize modern technology in order to continue engaging and equipping families with resources for their ‘first school’ of faith.  Catholic Social Teaching informs us: “It is within the family where children are raised and formed as human beings. The parental role in this human formation is governed by love, a love which places itself "at the service of children to draw forth from them ("e-ducere") the best that is in them" and which "finds its fullest expression precisely in the task of educating." (Compendium, No. 239)  The family is the ‘first school.’"

What a beautiful calling, and a great responsibility. Equipping families with engaging resources for their ‘first schools’ is not only CCC’s mission, but also its passion. As they plant seeds of faith in our children – it’s fascinating to consider how that can play out in ordinary and extraordinary ways in the future. Even now, in a culture saturated with noise and immorality, even little people of faith can make a big impact.

CCC’s Saints and Heroes films are available in English, Spanish, and French – and are part of the many CCC products featured in the summer sale. Customers can purchase CCC’s wholesome family entertainment by using the discount code SUMMER60, at cccofamerica.com.

CCC of America has embraced one teaching in the past 30 years: Never underestimate the ability of little children to understand even the mysteries of our Catholic Faith. After all, didn’t Our Lady appear to Jacinta (age 6), Francisco (age 8), Lucia (age 10), Juan Diego (age 11), Bernadette (age 12), as well as other little ones?

You never know the time or the place when the opportunity to speak about your faith will arise. At any moment, the ability for the ordinary to reveal the extraordinary awaits. Don’t let it pass. Then share that story, to encourage another along in his or her journey.  Bring your children to pray together with the saints, the future of our faith depends on the future saints.
