Today's Gospel: John 1:35-42, Memorial of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

“He said to them, 'Come, and you will see.'" - John 1:39

Jesus invites us every day. He invites us every moment of every day. He invites us to spend time with him and to look for him in our daily lives. He invites us to look for him in our hearts, for that is where we are sure to find him. We are free to answer the invitation or not. We are free to answer it or to ignore it. We are free to turn away.

What are you looking for?

I have turned away in the past. I have turned away and looked elsewhere for love. Then I finally discovered that there is only one real love. Only one real answer. Only one real home. Jesus.

Come and you will see.

Once we find Jesus, we are called to be his witnesses. Once we find Him, we naturally want to tell others about him. We almost can’t help ourselves. We tell our story. We tell how we have come to know Jesus and what He has done for us. We tell others how He has changed our lives. We share our faith. We give witness. We give witness with words. We give witness with our lives.

What are you looking for? Come and you will see.

Ponder:

What is one way that you witness to Jesus with your life rather than your words? Reflect on times you have said Yes to Jesus’ call.

Pray:

Dear Jesus, thank you for calling us. Thank you for revealing to us our real home. Help us to witness to others.
