Help Make the Work of G.K. Chesterton Known in Today's Society

The American Chesterton Society is currently running a fundraising campaign to combat the shortfall in donations received in 2016. Our 2017 campaign has an ambitious goal of raising $70,000; this amount would cover our expenses for one year.

We operate on a shoestring as it is, but without shoestrings, we can't operate at all.

We have over 12,000 fantastic Facebook fans , and 7,000 delightful twitter fans, along with plenty of Pinterest, LinkedIn and Instagram followers; we thought if each gives just $7, we'd reach our goal.

What do we need money for?

*To pay for printing Gilbert magazine over what normal membership fees cover. There is also a “Blessed Are the Poor” fund to pay for memberships/subscriptions to, well, the poor (which includes prisoners, students, seminarians, and others).

*To provide funds to continue work on the Chesterton Digital Library collection, which includes scholarship, research, data storage and technical support. This project hopes to get a working digital library of Chesterton’s works online this year.

*To pay two part time staffers who work in our office. Everyone else working here is a volunteer.

It's very hard for us to ask for your help. But we believe that together, we can raise this quickly and then get back to the work of helping people find Chesterton, read Chesterton and love Chesterton. And when people read Chesterton, good things happen.

We will be so thankful to you if you can give just a little right now, and it would help us to continue to do the work we do here, the work of making Chesterton more known in today's society--a need that is desperate. Common Sense is needed, and Chesterton provides it in abundance! Thank you for your help.

About the American Chesterton Society: The American Chesterton Society (ACS), founded in 1996, works to promote interest in G.K. Chesterton (1874-1936), one of the 20th century’s greatest writers. A convert to the Catholic Church, Chesterton wrote over a hundred books during his lifetime and published over five thousand essays in newspapers and magazines. Interest in, and appreciation for, Chesterton’s work is growing thanks in part to the sustained efforts of the ACS.
