Today's Gospel: John 10:22-30

Do you keep people in suspense? When someone finds out you’re a Catholic Christian do you think they are waiting to see what that looks like? I live in the South. Not the deep South, so Catholicism isn’t quite as scarce as it is in some parts of the country, but still, I’m in the minority. That means when faith comes up in social settings, I am usually the token Catholic.

If I just say, “I’m Catholic” and then don’t act on or reflect that truth then is it really the truth? The Jews were pressing Jesus to SAY that he was the Christ. His response: Why haven’t you paid attention to all the things I’ve done that PROVE I AM. I think we’re the photo negative of Jesus sometimes. We say we are, but we don’t show we are. We don’t need to think too hard about which approach is more effective.

Ponder:

Can you think of any areas of your life where you have misrepresented what it means to be a Christian?

Pray:

Heavenly Father, help me to live my faith out loud, not just in name but in action so others see me and are pointed to your Son.
