Who is the Today’s Catholic Homeschooling Resource Guide for?

I hope that all Catholic homeschoolers will find something of value, whether they are new to homeschooling, perhaps simply considering it as an educational option, or a veteran facing the challenges of a changing life and growing children and trying to find answers to new problems.

How did the Resource Guide come about?

Every since I started TodaysCatholicHomeschooling.com a few years ago, I have wanted to put together a magazine-style resource guide for Catholic homeschoolers. There is so much wonderful information on the web, but it requires searching for it, browsing various articles, and then, unless you print it out, may be hard to find later.

I enjoy reading both Christian and secular homeschool print publications but have longed for something for Catholics. I set out to create a publication I would want to read as a Catholic homeschooler. I also wanted to make sure everyone who wants it has access to it, so while the print publication has a cost associated with it, the PDF version is offered as a free download at http://bit.ly/2r5PRXi

Today's Catholic Homeschooling Resource Guide

How long have you been homeschooling?

I just finished my 9^th year of homeschooling. I have three children – two boys in high school and a daughter who just finished kindergarten. While there are certainly many homeschoolers with more experience under their belts, I’ve been at this long enough to know many of the blessings and challenges of homeschooling. My children also have various learning challenges which makes me particularly aware of special-needs homeschooling, a topic that is addressed in the resource guide.

You mention special-needs homeschooling. What other topics are covered in the guide?

There are 40 articles in the guide, many written by veteran homeschoolers. I am so thankful for their willingness to share their wisdom and be part of this project. Topics covered include FAQ’s about homeschooling, making the decision to homeschool, adding some fun to your homeschool, the socialization issue, the value of Latin, homeschooling during challenging life circumstances, hybrid homeschooling, homeschooling high school, and much more. There is also a full resource list to help homeschoolers with their curriculum decisions.
