Sure, there are times when it’s just hard to believe what the Catholic Faith tells us, but when someone says “I’m losing my faith,” or “I lost my faith,” there’s something much more serious going on there. In [today's video](https://media.ascensionpress.com/video/faith-is-not-something-you-can-lose/), Fr. Mike examines this problem, but emphasizes that we actually can’t lose faith because it’s a gift from God. We can use that gift wrongly and put it into what Fr. Mike calls “God’s chief rivals” or, in other words, idols; but the faith is still there and we can still put it in God if we simply choose to. Maybe God is giving you the gift of faith right now, and maybe you just have to use it the way he intends. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNLqxzMHbjs --- *Copyright 2018 Ascension Press* ### Share this article [![Share on Facebook](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/facebook-24x24.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2018%2F10%2F06%2Fascension-presents-faith-is-not-something-you-can-lose%2F%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on Twitter](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/twitter-24x24.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2018%2F10%2F06%2Fascension-presents-faith-is-not-something-you-can-lose%2F%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2018%2F10%2F06%2Fascension-presents-faith-is-not-something-you-can-lose%2F%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Ascension%20Presents%3A%20Faith%20is%20Not%20Something%20You%20Can%20Lose) [![Share on Email](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/email-24x24.png)](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2018%2F10%2F06%2Fascension-presents-faith-is-not-something-you-can-lose%2F%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail%20&body=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Farticles%2F2018%2F10%2F06%2Fascension-presents-faith-is-not-something-you-can-lose%2F%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail) ** #### About the Author ![Ascension Press](https://www.catholicmom.com/hubfs/_catholicmom/Contriubutors/ASCENSION%20PRESS.png) ### [Ascension Press](https://www.catholicmom.com/articles/author/ascension-press) Ascension Presents is an evangelistic platform bringing entertaining, faith-filled, and dynamic presenters straight to your newsfeed.
