We take on some very consequential issues this week on “Catholic Central” – pro-life issues, sexuality and the nature of love -- but they are ones that all families face sooner or later. Luckily, we close out with a couple of great tools to keep your faith on an even keel – the Rosary and the Psalms. Buckle up!

What Do We Really Mean by Pro-Life Issues?
When you say “pro-life,” lots of people go to their corners and put their dukes up. But it’s actually a broad issue with implications in a lot of areas in modern society.
What does it mean to be pro-life? What are the issues that matter, and why? Join Kai and Libby in “Catholic Central: Pro-Life Issues,” as they explain why Catholics care about the beginning, the end, and everything in-between.

Diving Deeper
- What are some challenges in our society that make it difficult to respect and uphold the dignity of all human life from conception to natural death?
- What areas of the protection of human life are you most concerned for or passionate about? How might God be inviting you to take action in regards to those areas?
- What does it mean to you to have a consistent life ethic for all human lives? Do you think that some political, cultural, or religious group emphasize certain aspects of human dignity over others? Do you recognize any inconsistencies in your own views? How might you invite God to help you grow in integrity and consistency in defending the dignity and sacredness of all human life?
Activity
Curious about where to begin with defending life? Here are some ideas: Pray for the unborn and the parents of unborn children in crisis pregnancies or unplanned pregnancies. Volunteer at a pro-life pregnancy resource center. Become involved in prison ministry and help with communion services with inmates.
Reflection by Father Vince Kuna, C.S.C.
Other activities: Visit the sick who are confined to hospitals. Speak up when you hear people talking down about women, the differently-abled, people of color or those from countries other than your own. Vote for initiatives and candidates that promote the dignity of all human life. Volunteer at a local homeless shelter or soup kitchen, and encounter Christ in the people you serve. If you are unable to venture out to participate in various pro-life activities, try reading up on the Church’s holistic teaching on pro-life issues.
