Please join us in prayer! This is the fourth day of our 2020 CatholicMom Mother's Day novena. Each day for nine days, we will be praying to Mary, along with a different saint, asking God to bless all mothers. A different contributor will lead us in prayer each day.

Today, author Caolyn Astfalk shares a reflection about Elizabeth Ann Seton and leads us in today's prayer. Please pray along with us, and then tune in every morning for the newest prayer.

Please feel free to leave any specific prayer intentions you have in the comments. Thank you for praying with us.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us! Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us!

Novena Prayer

Mary, as we prepare for Mother’s Day, when we honor all mothers, we turn to you. We thank the Lord whom you serve for the great gift of motherhood. Never has it been known that anyone who sought your intercession was left unaided by grace. Dear Mother, thank you for your "Yes" to the invitation of the angel which brought heaven to earth and changed human history. You opened yourself to God's word, and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.

Today, in a special way, we pray for those who are grieving the loss of a family member. We pray especially for those who have lost their mothers, and for mothers who have lost a child. May God give them healing and peace.

Dear Mother Mary, intercede for all women and all mothers. Ask your Divine Son to give them the grace of surrendered love so that they could join with you in giving their own "Fiat." May they find daily strength to say yes to the call to the sacrificial love- the very heart of the vocation of motherhood. May their love and witness be a source of great inspiration for all of us called to follow your Son.

On this Mother’s Day, Mother of the Word Incarnate, pray for us who have recourse to you. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us! Amen.
