Lilia Grundy celebrates her Guardian Angel by throwing a party to show her gratitude after her formal Consecration.

My Angelic Introduction

On October 22, 2025, I threw a party for my Guardian Angel. The festivities that day, were preceded by a beautiful Mass with a formal Consecration led by Fr. Wolfgang, OPPL ORC, Rector Opus Angelorum (Work of the Holy Angels), “an international movement within the Catholic Church faithful to the Magisterium.”  I had spent a year in preparation, leading up to my formal Consecration — and looking back, it had all been a providential arrangement.

I can remember the angelic seeds that had been planted. My friend Dina Marie Hale, radio show host, international speaker, and founder of Faith Moments™, had led a talk on the Holy Angels at the local Marian shrine, the Grotto. Up until that moment, I had not put too much focus on the angels. But after her presentation, I could not fathom letting another day go by without giving thanks to my heavenly companion!

Our Holy Guardian Angel loves us with a very holy, intense and faithful love … For this great love, we can only thank him fittingly by loving him in return. (Opus Sanctorum Angelorum® Formation Letters, pg. 23)

Always my Angel

I began incorporating the Guardian Angel prayer into my nightly routine. The more I prayed to my Guardian Angel each day, the more I could trace back grace-filled moments in time to him.

I recalled that one day I was dropping off my daughters to Bible camp at our new parish. I had been longing to spend time in Adoration. I was quite busy that morning however, so I reasoned I would not have time to search around for the chapel.

As soon as I began walking to my car, a new parish friend greeted me kindly and asked if I was looking for something. I told her I had hoped to find the Adoration room. Sure enough, she sweetly escorted me into the chapel. I remember feeling as though an angel had guided me to pray that day — and I now know, my Guardian Angel was surely with me.

Time passed and I saw an announcement in my parish bulletin promoting a Mass for the Holy Angels. I was captivated by the notice and planned to attend. After participating in that Mass and having watched a group being consecrated to their Guardian Angels, I felt the desire to do the same.

As I was leaving the church, my friend told me she too wanted to be consecrated. And by God’s grace, we were soon connected with other women who wanted to participate in the program. We decided to form a small group for the study, which included reading and reflecting on a book that guided us through “12 Letters” (chapters) over the course of the year.

Guardian Angel Forever

My Guardian Angel has been so good to me. Not only has he protected me my entire life, but he has helped me grow in my faith and gave me the special blessing of uniting me with seven other women whom I have had the pleasure of getting to know and bond with through our Consecration journey.

We were so excited preparing for Consecration day! We had planned to dress in blue at Mass, honoring Mother Mary, Queen of the Angels. I prepared small goodie bags including angel keychains for the ladies and our presiding priests. I attended Confession the night before our Consecration Mass.

And when I returned home, I continued celebrating my Guardian Angel, toasting him with a glass of wine and thanking him in prayer. I look forward to continuing this earthly adventure with my Guardian Angel and sharing the treasure that the Holy Angels bring with others.

SANCTUS

Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus,
Dominus Deus Sabaoth
Pleni Sunt Caeli et Terra, Gloria Tua
Hosanna in excelsis
Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini
Hosanna in excelsis.

Do you pray to your Guardian Angel?

How do you show gratitude or how can you give back to your celestial companion?
