Flávia Ghelardi shares a guided meditation for moms, based on a passage from the Book of Revelation.
Today we continue our practical exercise on meditation, inspired by the method taught by Father Joseph Kentenich. We will keep on using a biblical text, because the Word of God is addressed to each of us individually, and it is the Holy Spirit who helps it reach our hearts as a message from the Father.
Meditation is a personal encounter with God, to grow in love for Him. Because it is personal, each person will experience this encounter in a different way, in a unique way. Thus, each proposed exercise is intended only to present an example of what this conversation with the Father can be like, so that you can get an overview of the whole process.
Opening Prayer
We are in the place we have chosen to meditate, already prepared with some image that reminds us of the spiritual world, a lit candle, instrumental music, in short, whatever helps us most to concentrate on what we are about to do: have a personal encounter with God.
Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and place yourself in God's presence. Make the Sign of the Cross.
My holy guardian angel helps me to meditate well so that this moment of prayer may transform my hard, fickle, selfish, and negligent heart into a pure heart, capable of loving and serving God with joy and generosity.
Implore the help of the Holy Spirit:
Holy Spirit, you are the soul of my soul. I humbly adore you. Enlighten me, strengthen me, guide me, comfort me. Reveal your wishes to me as far as this is in accordance with the will of the Eternal Father. Show me what Eternal Love wants of me. Show me what I should do. Show me what I should suffer. Show me what I should humbly and thoughtfully accept, bear and endure. Holy Spirit, show me your will and the will of the Father, for I want my whole life to be nothing else than a continuous, an everlasting yes to the wishes, to the will of God, the Eternal Father. (Father Joseph Kentenich - HW 639)
Meditation Topic:
Remain faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Revelation 2:10)

What Does God Want to Tell Me?
What is the Father trying to tell us when He asks us to be faithful until death?
Faithfulness begins with the little things: waking up on time, fulfilling a purpose, doing my work well without procrastinating, focusing on what I need to do now, using social media with a purpose, without wasting time, and the like. He who is faithful in little things will also be faithful in much.
Faithfulness to God requires that our hearts be given only to Him. We must not give space to the many idols that the world offers us: power, money, pleasures. We must always keep in mind our ultimate goal: to spend eternity with our Father who created and saved us.
Remember Saint Paul's warning: I can do anything, but not everything is good for me. Always be mindful of the choices made each day: Does this attitude bring me closer to or further away from my goal, which is to reach Heaven? We must not make choices that are contrary to our faith, no matter how much pressure the world may exert.
To remain faithful until death, we need to pray hard for this grace and strengthen ourselves through frequent reception of the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Confession. Whenever we fall, we must not lose heart. Let us seek the grace of forgiveness and move forward. This is fidelity. And the reward will be eternal happiness in Paradise.
What Do I Say to Myself Based on This Reality?
How many times have I been unfaithful to God, letting other things occupy my mind and heart! I chose what was good, enjoyable, and pleasant, without thinking if that choice was truly good for me, for my salvation.
How difficult it is to fulfill my duty well, without procrastinating, without looking at my cell phone. Even when it's time to pray, it's hard to concentrate. There are so many things occupying my mind, so many things that in the end won't make the slightest difference; everything will pass. Why worry so much about things that are not so important? The Father never asks for anything that is impossible. If he asks me for fidelity, it is because I am capable of being faithful. I just need to make a little effort and always count on the help of grace.
How Do I Answer the Lord?
Dear Father, forgive me for the times I did not respond as I should have to Your call to put love for You above all things. What You ask of me is so little compared to all You have done and continue to do for me. I want to learn to love You more each day, so that I can be more faithful and live this surrender to You more intensely. My Mother Mary Most Holy, you who were the Father's most faithful servant, help me to be a faithful daughter. With your help, I know that I will be able to faithfully fulfill my duty.

We conclude this moment of prayer by writing down the inspirations we have received in our personal notebooks. We give a brief thanksgiving for having been able to spend a few minutes talking with our Father. We can make a resolution to meditate again the next day and ask our holy guardian angel to remind us throughout the day of these brief moments we have spent together.
