Jesus Every Day, Jesus Every Way
By Lisa M. Hendey
Published by Loyola Press
How would your life be different if you strived to “seek Jesus every day and in every way”? (xiii) In her new book, Jesus Every Day, Jesus Every Way, CatholicMom.com founder Lisa M. Hendey invites you to deepen your relationship with Jesus by looking for him as you make your way through your daily life.
A Simple Book with a Powerful Message
This is a relatively simple book, but it packs a solid spiritual punch. It is divided into 52 sections, one for each week of the year, each with its own theme. Some of the topics covered include Offering Our Gifts, Living Our Sabbath Well, Life-Giving Bread, Spotting Everyday Signs, Accepting Help, Bearing Fruit, and In Doubt and Desolation.
Each Sunday features a Scripture passage, personal reflection by Hendey, and a question to ponder. The other six days offer quotes from a variety of sources, such as saints, literature, poetry, and movies, followed by a reflection question. The week ends with a prayer that centers on the theme. You can read and reflect on the weeks in any order.
A Quote-Lover’s Delight
I have a large chalkboard in my kitchen where I write a quote each week to reflect on. I’m always on the search for meaningful quotes to put there. This book is a treasure-trove of them! Hendey did an amazing job finding quotes worth pondering to include for each day. If you are someone who appreciates inspiring or insightful quotes, this book is definitely for you!
Jesus Every Day, Jesus Every Way encourages you to “consider the everyday divine in the real life of your world” (xiv). Where can you find Jesus today?
