Ellen Mongan encourages you to see the film The Last Supper, which opens in theaters March 14, 2025. It will fill your soul to overflowing!

You Are Invited to Take a Seat at the Table

Many are called, but few are chosen! How would you like to be invited to attend Jesus’s private dinner party, His Last Supper? There will be feasting, rejoicing, a little laughter, and a few tears. Within the intimacy of this setting, you will meet Jesus face to face and get to know Him for yourself. How do you receive an invitation to such a sacred event? I encourage you to see the film The Last Supper. It will fill your soul to overflowing as you are fed rich food from the Word of God. The Scriptures come alive in living color, and the Word of God is proclaimed in power.

Have you ever asked yourself, “What did Jesus do for me?” Perhaps you will find the answer in the movie as it depicts the final hours of Jesus's life, and you may be moved to tears. The Gospel will no longer be just words on a page; it will become your reason for hope.

I pray that Jesus will become the center of your heart and that His Words will guide your life for all eternity. If you view this movie with the eyes of your heart, it will change your life. How do I know that? It changed mine. Who knows: God may work a miracle in your heart.

Bravo to Those Who Bring Us This Film

‘Chris Tomlin's The Last Supper is releasing in theaters on March 14th. This is a historically and biblically accurate film from producer Michael Scott (The Cast for Christ). The director is Mauro Borrelli, and music icon Chris Tomlin is Executive Producer.

Chris Tomlin said, “I have always said that worship is more about seeing than singing, and years ago, I was leading worship in Israel, and that understanding was deeply reinforced. While standing in the place and seeing where Jesus gave His life, I was profoundly moved, reflecting on His final moments on Earth. That experience was a marking moment in my life,” shared Tomlin. “In watching THE LAST SUPPER film, I had that same spiritual encounter. My prayer is that this film will meet people where they are and make a deep and eternal impact on their lives.”

The anticipation surrounding THE LAST SUPPER has been electrifying. THE LAST SUPPER is an awe-inspiring depiction of the ultimate act of divine love and sacrifice, told through the eyes of those who walked alongside Jesus Christ. This profoundly intimate film unveils untold perspectives, shedding new light on the profound Biblical truths that shaped salvation history. More than retelling, it is an invitation to experience redemption, grace, and the eternal promise of hope like never before.’

The film includes a stellar cast and heart-touching music. The picture is being released by Pinnacle Peak Pictures, a leading faith and family-friendly film production and distribution studio created in 2005 by Michael Scott and David A. R. White. (from the publicist)

What Stands Out?

The personalities of Jesus’ 12 closest friends are revealed as the movie progresses. I, who enjoy watching the development of characters, could see Peter as a leader from the get-go. John was found to be a kind-hearted man. Judas had faith struggles that he was unable to overcome. He was tempted multiple times, and then he fell. Money and pride got the best of him, and he turned on his friend.

Mary Magdalene’s love of Jesus is evident. She stood by him when others ran away. One of my favorite parts is seeing the compassionate side of Jesus: feeding the multitudes, gathering the young children, washing the disciples' feet, healing the ear of the soldier, and forgiving Peter.

The Old Testament's history and traditions are woven between the scenes. You will discover the significance of the blood of the Lamb and the Passover meal through the eyes of an elderly faithful man as he passes his faith down to his grandchildren. As you go upstairs for the Last Supper, you will meet Jesus as the host of His last Passover meal. Feel free to take a seat and sit a spell. You will be amazed at what you can learn at the feet of Jesus.

This Movie May Change Your Life

I was so engaged in the movie, I did not want to leave the room. A permanent picture was imprinted in my heart as each Passion scene was displayed. I pray it will remain there to remind me of what Jesus has done for me.

The Last Supper is a must-see movie for the entire family. This movie is a perfect way to usher in Lent. It will prepare your heart more deeply for the coming of Christ at Easter. Consider this movie entertainment and a retreat all rolled into one. The first time you view this film may not be your last time. You might want to watch it again and again. I did!
