Today's Gospel: Luke 2:41-52 - Feast of the Holy Family “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” Jesus was a man on a mission. His mission was to do the work the Father asked Him to do. Even at the age of twelve, He was getting on it. For the next twenty-eight years, He lived a quiet life. He grew in wisdom and He earned the respect of those He encountered. During this time, in a hidden way, He was busy at His mission, showing all around Him how a child of God should live. He did not seek to draw attention to Himself but He still had an impact on those around Him as the Bible says He advanced in favor before God and man. Each of us has a mission given to us by the Father. That is why He created us. To complete our mission we need God’s help. We can get that help by taking some time each week to spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament who is always in His Father’s house.

Ponder:

What mission has God given me to carry out?

Pray:

Dear Jesus, give me Your wisdom to know what the Father asks of me. Give me your strength to carry out my work. Amen.
