Reflection by Connie Beckman Today's Gospel: John 6:44-51 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day.” John 6:44 I deeply desire desire to be taught by God the Father. Help me, Father, to take into my mind and heart the teachings of Your beloved son, Jesus Christ. Help me to believe more that You are the Living Bread of Life - body, blood, soul, and divinity. Oh my Jesus, I believe; help my unbelief! My heart is stirred and unsettled knowing the truth that I am a sinner in much need of God's mercy and forgiveness. Yet You, Jesus, in Your unfathomable mercy will raise me up on the last day to be with You and all the saints and angels forever in Heaven. I don't want to be like our ancestors that ate the manna in the desert and died. I want to be with you in Heaven forever.

Ponder:

How can we adore our Eucharistic Lord in a deeper way at Mass? When the priest raises up the host at Mass, whisper from the deepest part of your heart, “My Lord and my God, I love You my Jesus, the lover of my soul. You are all that I need. You are worthy of all my praise!"

Pray:

Mother Mary, and all you angels and saints, bring me closer to Jesus. Make my heart thirst for the Living Bread daily. Without You, my God and my King, I can do nothing.
