Today's Gospel: John 14:7-14

Philip said to Him, "Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?"

Jesus is so patient with Philip. Jesus knows that Philip is trying his best to know Jesus and the Father. I am so grateful that Jesus continues to be patient with me as well. Sometimes I want things my way and in my time. Jesus patiently waits for me when I stray from His holy will. He gently takes my hand and places me in His Most Sacred Heart for rest and healing.

I long for that kind of loving patience when I am dealing with difficult family members. I long for the peace of Jesus’ in my heart, so I can respond in love and not react with anger and impatience. I am more loving and patient when I can spend quiet time in adoration before our Eucharistic Lord. As I quietly adore, Jesus’ light breaks through the darkness in my soul.

Ponder:

Is Jesus calling you to spend some quiet time with Him?

Pray:

Jesus, fill me with your love and mercy so I can be an instrument of Your peace to everyone I meet today.
