Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.
Today's Gospel: Mark 16:15-18
"Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.”
Have you ever spent time contemplating that verse? Many of us make it a priority to strengthen our faith by reading about saints, studying the Bible, and faithfully praying. While those are all important spiritual tools, we sometimes forget that we are also called to proclaim the good news.
In fact, this directive is so important that at the end of every Mass, the priest sends us off with these words—"Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord.”
Take a moment and ask yourself a few questions. Am I doing that? Am I sharing the news of Christ with my friends? Am I making faith a priority for my family? Do I use my gifts to glorify God and lead others to Him? In our society, faith is often a personal, private experience, and we don’t want to impose our beliefs on others. However, as disciples of Christ, proclaiming the faith is our directive. God wants every single person to know Him and to spend eternity with Him. And He wants us to help make that happen.
This Feast Day of Saint Paul’s conversion is a wonderful time to recognize that just like God called Paul to spread the faith, He calls each of us to do the same. Have no fear; we aren’t alone in the mission. God has already blessed each of us with unique gifts and talents to help with the task. God will always provide the tools, words, ideas, and strength needed for the job. We just need to willingly answer yes to the calling.
Ponder:
What can you specifically do today to proclaim the good news?
Pray:
Dear Lord, give me the strength to be a faithful follower. When I struggle with how to defend the faith or share it with others, please give me the words so that I may ignite a small spark in others to draw them closer to You.
