When life's storms make us feel abandoned, Jesus reminds us to have faith. Discover how to trust in God's perfect timing and power over every storm.

Today's Gospel: Mark 4:45-41

As Jesus slept soundly through a violent storm, the disciples wondered whether He even cared if they all lived or died.
We know that feeling sometimes. We're undergoing a great trial in life, and God seems absolutely silent. It's as if He is sleeping through our prayer of petition. And it's so easy, so tempting, to give in to the feeling of despair that God has abandoned us in our time of need.

Jesus proves to the disciples and to us that He has not abandoned us. He will not abandon us. He asks us, instead of despairing, to consider why we are afraid. He reminds us to have faith.

The winds will calm and the waves will die down. God is not asleep. He hears us, and He is with us in the midst of every storm.

Ponder:

What do I do when my faith is tested? How can I remember to trust that God will calm the storm, and to trust in His perfect timing?

Pray:

Jesus, help me to always trust in You, no matter how great the challenge I face.

Pray Together:

On stormy days, light a candle and pray the Rosary (or a decade of the Rosary) together. Remember that Jesus has power even over storms.
