Today's Gospel: John 5:31-47
In today’s Gospel, Jesus experiences frustration and anger. But even more than that, His heart is broken because the Jewish leaders, the ones who should have known better, refuse to believe.
We, likewise, experience frustration, anger, and heartbreak when those we love the most let us down. Sometimes, it is too easy to turn in on ourselves and dwell on perceived injustices or difficulties in our lives.
How important it is in those moments to take a deep breath and reflect on the love of God in us! Do we recognize the signs of God’s love all around us? He has given us so much! Does it cause us to glory in the Lord? God loves us so much.
Jesus came to restore our relationship with God. By virtue of our baptism, we have God’s very life in us. And God is love. Therefore, everything we do must be motivated by love. The love of God within us should bubble up and flow out onto others.
Seek the glory that comes from the only God. Share the love that comes from love Himself.
Ponder:
Whom can I share my blessings and God's love with today?
Pray:
I glory in you, Lord, and the many blessings You so generously share with me. Out of love for you, Jesus, help me to reflect on and share my blessings.
