Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.

Today's Gospel: John 20:1-9

We have these core tenets of our faith. The Incarnation. The Resurrection. Sometimes as a lifelong Catholic, I try to objectively observe these facets of our faith as if I were someone of a different faith or from no faith background at all.

The Christian God was born as a human being and lived among us. After a brief time in public ministry, preaching, teaching and curing the sick and the afflicted, He died. More accurately, He was killed by the state in collaboration with local religious authorities because He was a threat to their collective power structure. After His death, He was laid into a tomb. Three days later, He rose from the dead.

On this Easter Sunday, I ask that you not listen to this Gospel through the lens of a familiar story. Instead, I hope that you are emotionally swept into a sense of wonder and awe at the impossible made possible.

Our faith is predicated on a seemingly impossible notion – Resurrection of the dead.

Our faith is predicated on a God Who so loved us that He endured death.

Our faith is predicated on a God Who so loves us.

Alleluia! Alleluia!

Ponder:

What inspires awe in you on this Easter Sunday?

Pray:

Resurrected Christ, on this holiest of days, we are humble witnesses to Your wonder. We praise You! We adore You! We glorify You!
