Reflection by Emily Davis
Today's Gospel: Matthew 28:8-15
How amazing would it have been to be the women chosen to check on Jesus’s tomb and happen upon the scene they witnessed? While the guards of Jesus’s tomb had to make up stories about what happened, these women were now the bearers of the good news that Jesus had risen.
In verse 10, Jesus tells the women,
“Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
I have good news for you. Jesus invited us all to Galilee. Galilee is wherever we find Jesus. He wants us to look for Him in every part of our days. In verse ten, Jesus invited us all to our Christian mission.
Let me explain. Do you remember when you first looked for Jesus?
I’ve always prayed. As a mom, my current Galilee is prayer time. It is where I meet Jesus, as I cry out to the Lord for my children, for myself, friends, and our lost world.
We are His disciples, and we are to meet Him and bask in His holy love for us. The world is scary; Jesus is love. In our humanity of doubt and fear, Jesus is love. How blessed are we to have been given faith in His mission for our lives!
Mamas, our walks are all different. But we are walking on the same path to Heaven. And we must, as His disciples, to continue proclaiming His good news. We teach our children to cling to Jesus. Never stop praying for your families, mamas. Never stop looking for Jesus and embracing the warmth of His light in your lives. He knows and loves you. Seek Him always. Go to Galilee. You will see Him there.
Ponder:
In your best and worst moments, Jesus is waiting for you. Where will you seek Him today?
Pray:
Dear Lord, may I continue to seek You as I navigate the humanity of our world. Please soothe the mama hearts out there as they come to Galilee to find the balm of Your love for every situation they walk through. I pray that my Christian witness leads others to You.
