Parables are brief narrative stories that Jesus told with earthly analogies to illustrate spiritual truths. In today’s Gospel, Jesus shares the parables of the mustard seed and the yeast to announce the coming of the Kingdom of God. Jesus’ abilities as a master storyteller made it easier for people to not only remember the parables for themselves but to share them with others.   #### Ponder:   How has the Church helped in the development of your faith to help further the Kingdom of God?   #### Pray: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of Your son, Jesus. I pray that Your kingdom come to earth and Your will be done in my life.   --- ![Daily Gospel 2](https://www.catholicmom.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Daily%20Gospel%202.png?width=2135&name=Daily%20Gospel%202.png)   --- Copyright 2024 Ariel Damiani ### Share this article [![Share on Facebook](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/facebook-24x24.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Fdaily-gospel%2Fdgr-10292024%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on Twitter](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/twitter-24x24.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Fdaily-gospel%2Fdgr-10292024%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Fdaily-gospel%2Fdgr-10292024%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Daily%20Gospel%20Reflection%20for%20October%2029%2C%202024) [![Share on Email](https://static.hubspot.com/final/img/common/icons/social/email-24x24.png)](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Fdaily-gospel%2Fdgr-10292024%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail%20&body=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.catholicmom.com%2Fdaily-gospel%2Fdgr-10292024%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail) ** #### About the Author ![Ariel Damiani](https://www.catholicmom.com/hubfs/Blog2017/ADamiani%20Headshot.jpg) ### [Ariel Damiani](https://www.catholicmom.com/daily-gospel/author/ariel-damiani) Ariel Damiani works with Holy Cross Family Ministries as a member of their Advancement team.
