Discover the importance of seeing every individual as a beloved soul. Learn how love transcends judgment and inspires compassion.

Today's Gospel: Luke 15:1-10

In this parable, Jesus is telling us that everyone is an important and beloved soul to Him. How often do we overlook someone because of their appearance or lowly station in life?

He wants us to see Him in each person and realize how much He loves and covets that soul, even that prisoner on death row. He's willing to leave the ninety-nine and go out to save the one. My parents used to make the hour-long drive every Thursday to Mule Creek Prison in Lone, CA, to teach a Bible class to the incarcerated. It was scary sometimes when there were lockdowns because of riots or other problems, but they kept going. They were in their 80s. They reached out to these forgotten souls, and many were saved because someone cared.

Jesus doesn't say we have to like everyone but to love our neighbor as a soul that belongs to Our Lord. We don't know what each person is dealing with, or what sorrows they're experiencing. They just might be "the one" that He is seeking.

Ponder:

Are we judging others in our thoughts instead of seeing them as souls who yearn for salvation?

Pray:

Dear Lord, help me to remember how You love all of us, and help me to do the same.

Pray Together:

Talk to an individual whom society sees as an outcast. Get to know them as a person.
