Today's Gospel: Luke 21:12-19

People offer their testimony to our Lord in many different ways. Today’s passage speaks of trials that the disciples would endure as they gave witness to their experiences with Jesus. Endurance plays a big role as they set out to share the teachings of Jesus. We must also live and share our knowledge of God with an enduring faith and trust in God.

I am reminded of a program called Christ Renews His Parish. This program, often given by a Catholic church, invites the participants into a 48–72-hour faith reboot. In this environment, there are several members of the parish who will step up to give testimony of how God has influenced their lives. These witnesses move each in their own way, touching the hearts of those God has placed in that sacred space.

Lives are tremendously affected by the events as they unfold during that short period of time; I, for one, can attest to that. I have been touched by attending, changed by listening, and transformed by offering my own testimony. I think today’s message is one that invites all of us to consider the witness we have to offer others in Christ Jesus, to accept the call, and to share the gift.

Ponder:

In what ways can I share my testimony and love for God with others in my community?

Pray:

Loving God, thank You for placing me within a community of those who love You. Please, Lord, show me how I can bear witness to Your light and love with those who need a faith reboot and a friend to listen.
