Apple-Spiced Ham and Yams

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup apple jelly
1/3 cup brown sugar packed
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon each ground cinnamon and nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cloves ground
1 ham center-cut slice, cut 3/4 inch thick and fat trimmed
1 17-ounce can yams drained
Spiced apple rings
Lettuce

1. In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, melt butter or margarine. Add flour. Cook and stir for 1 minute.  Add jelly, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves; cook and stir until mixture reaches a rolling boil.

2. Add ham and yams. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until meat and yams are heated through, basting occasionally with sauce. Arrange yams around ham on a platter; keep warm. Over medium-high heat, cook and stir sauce to reduce to desired consistency. Spoon over ham and yams.

Garnish with apple rings and lettuce.
